ActionView

The first SCADA software developed by Spin Eng

ActionView is the first SCADA software developed by Spin Eng and has been used in automation operations for over 20 years. It was the first EMS/SCADA developed in Brazil to specifically meet the requirements of the electricity sector, being the result of a partnership between computer science technicians and technicians from power generation, transmission and distribution utilities.

Simple to use and lightweight

ActionView uses few computational resources when compared to other solutions. Its performance is consistent and has unique features applied to the electrical market.

So many years of application and development have resulted in versatile software that adapts to the customer’s needs. ActionView has a long history of use, but it is also prepared to dialogue with the future, as it can be integrated with Action.NET.

ActionView + Action.NET

In complex applications, such as Control Centers, application migration to a new platform is a matter that demands care and attention. For cases like this, the integration of ActionView with Action.NET allows the use of the new platform’s advantages, such as mobility, high-quality vector objects, and several other features, without the need for migration. It’s an option for customers who already have ActionView integrated into their operations but want more modern benefits.

OTS - Training

Two factors contribute to the lack of experience of operators and dispatchers of energy concessionaires: reduction of operating costs (site failure) and the aging and retirement of experienced technicians without staff renewal. However, the responsibility of a dispatcher remains very large. It is necessary to create training environments with electrical models similar to real ones to train operators. In installations that have ActionView deployed, it is possible to synchronize it with Action.EMS (Action.NET module), creating a Dispatcher Training System (OTS – Operator Training System) similar to the utility company.

Maintenance

ActionView has hundreds of features. And that number can easily grow to tens of hundreds, as each customer can tailor it to their specific needs. Having a maintenance service is not only a way to ensure that an operation runs safely, but also to get the most out of it.

Competitive advantages

ActionView

MS SQL Server as a native database

It uses MS SQL Server as a native database for both SCADA and historical information, making it completely open (there is no proprietary database) and easy integration with ERP/CRM type systems for companies.

Quick creation of a complex application without the need to write a line of code (script)

It allows the quick creation of a complex application without the need to write a line of code (script). Automatically makes available: event screens, alarms, trend graphs, in real time and historical, spreadsheets of analog variables, maneuver files, interlocks (alarms and commands), query to historical and parameter databases, filters on reports, windows command, etc.

Queries through browser

It provides a powerful tool for querying historical data and generating reports both from client stations and on the web, through a browser.

Versatile and safe accessibility

It's the most versatile in the market with regard to access security, enabling/disabling all features and screens per user profile.

Light and robust

It's one of the lightest and most robust SCADAs on the market under the same application conditions (tags, channels, IEDs).

Gateway between the supported protocols

It's a gateway between the supported protocols, allowing, for example, to read data from a Modbus controller and make these same data available to another supervisor in OPC Server, BacNET IP, etc.

A single click

It allows creation of object instances with dozens of variables, conditions, functions and all associated methods and attributes and multiply them through a single click. Thus, objects such as a power plant generator, a CAG chiller and others can be created.

Functionalities

Independent processes available in the SCADA executable code

Alarms, events, real-time and historical trends, querying past events, filters, tabular spreadsheets and querying the parameter database are independent processes available in the SCADA executable code.

Alarm events are time stamped in milliseconds

All alarm events are time stamped in milliseconds.

Eventos e alarmes e valor Events, alarms and analogical values

Any event and alarm can be associated with an analog value that corresponds, for example, to the interrupted load.

Any analog variable has two upper limit

Any analog variable has two upper limit and two lower limit alarms that change automatically depending on the system load level (light/medium/heavy).

Comparative chart of predicted load and actual load

Comparative chart of predicted load and actual load automatically generated and changeable by day of the week.

Electric sector maneuvers

Electric sector maneuvers made available through the software's internal function.

Command impediments labels and associated annotations

Command impediments labels and associated annotations, automatically made available in the software.

System organization in hierarchical level contemplated

System organization in hierarchical level contemplated: regional, site (substation/plant), bays and tags.

Command interlocking, alarm conditioning and load unbalance

Command interlocking, alarm conditioning and load unbalance implemented as internal software functions.
