An expected reality only for the years ahead is becoming increasingly present: wind energy in Brazil. Regarding the newspaper Folha de São Paulo, the numbers are surprising.
In August, 30.6% of the energy in the Northeast came from wind farms, compared to 37.5% from thermal plants and 33.7% from hydroelectric plants. This owes much to the drought of recent months, but also to the cheapening of wind generation process. The wind market plans are ambitious, hoping to reach the rank of second largest power generator in Brazil by 2020.
Spin takes part of this cheapening process through automation, and has already automated several wind farms in the Northeast with Action₀NET SCADA software.
