ActionWise is a SCADA/ADMS application software, including topology processor, state estimator, power flow and a set of advanced functions for distribution network management, such as FLISR (Fault Location, Isolation and Service Restoration). ActionWise Toolkit

The information required for modeling the electrical network can be appropriated in two different ways: through the ActionWise Toolkit, which is a topology editor for the electrical network, or through an importer that reads the data existing in the utility's planning module. Some systems, such as Anarede, Anafas, BDGD Aneel, among others, already have the importer ready.

SCADA

The SCADA module acquires data from the field and sends orders to the field, isolating the problem and restoring service. This module can communicate directly with the circuit breakers, reclosers and switches or it can talk to the utility's SCADA, which works as a gateway for the FLISR function. The SCADA database and screens are generated automatically. Thus, the controlled loops are generated from the topological network generated by the Toolkit.

ActionWise is a SCADA/ADMS/FLISR software that implements the FLISR (Fault Detection, Isolation and Network Recomposition) function in a distribution network in real time.

After system parameterization, ActionWise can operate in three different ways:

The software does not communicate with the field, and the data is simulated from historical data of the modeled network. In this case, to check the behavior of the FLISR function, it is possible to simulate faults through the SCADA HMI and check how the system will be recomposed.

The software starts communicating with the field and implements the FLISR function, that is, using data acquired from the field in real-time, it locates faults in the opening of switches or circuit breakers of feeders in the electrical network and proposes/executes actions to isolate the fault and restore the system, maximizing quality indicators.

This is a special situation in real-time mode where the software acquires real data from the field and informs what it would do to recover from occurrences without actually doing so. This mode is used in system commissioning since the faults are real and the software only informs, through the HMI, which maneuvers would be executed.

Modeling the electrical network

Modeling the electrical network allows for the integrated and complete representation of any topology, involving all segments of the system, making it ideal for analyzing smart networks, where measurement, monitoring, control, automation and generation points are present at any voltage level.

Software execution in stand-alone and SCADA

The software runs both in stand-alone mode, communicating with the field, and in extension mode of the existing SCADA. In either of these modes, the solution can be implemented both in the control center (COS) and in a substation or in a regional office.

Possibility of manual configuration

Possibility of manual configuration of the database or integration with geographic information systems (GIS or BDGD) to obtain topological and electrical data from the network.

Real-time analog and digital data

Obtaining real-time analog and digital data from network equipment and sending commands to them. Possibility of obtaining data directly from the equipment or integrating with the SCADA system existing in the concessionaire.

Periodic execution of state estimation algorithm

Periodic execution of state estimation algorithm, which allows the determination in near real time of various magnitudes of the electrical system. Furthermore, in the event of a fault in the network, the solution uses the estimation of the state of the network at a time prior to and close to the moment of the fault, which increases the accuracy of the calculations performed.

Modified genetic algorithm

Modified genetic algorithm to obtain the sequence of maneuvers to be executed to isolate the fault and restore the power supply to healthy sections of the network.
